WHY BUY FROM US?

Our experience with figured maple goes back to 1996.  In fact, you could say figured maple is our passion. For the last 12 years, we have focused on the musical instrument market. At Hades Roasted Maple, we don't saw lumber, we saw guitar neck blanks.

Is there a difference?

QUARTER-SAWN

When we saw our high grade logs, we use the best sawing methods to maximize grain orientation, achieving perfect vertical grain–no compromises, even if it means sawing the log by hand with a chainsaw, or using our custom designed sawmill.

FLAT-SAWN

We don't saw lumber, we only saw guitar neck blanks. To ensure optimal flat-sawn grain with minimal run-out, we saw 5" wide blanks. You won't see a 10" wide board cut in half to get 2 "compromised" necks blanks from our high grade lumber. We strive for the very best possible cuts.

When you are sawing master grade birdseye maple, getting the figure to show at its best is paramount. In this case, flat-sawn is usually preferred, as it shows the figure the best.
